The Lighthouses Route

The Lighthouses Route goes along the Costa da Morte on the sea coast from Malpica to Fisterra. The scenery is spectacular among dunes, beaches, cliffs and, of course, lighthouses. This hiking route begins in Malpica and is done in 8 stages up to the lighthouse of Cape Finisterre.

The first stage of the Lighthouse Route travels part of the coast of Malpica, from the small lighthouse of the port to Niñons beach (in the municipality of Ponteceso). The path goes through the narrow streets and the seafront to Saint Adrian, with a good view of the town that you leave behind and the Sisargas Islands. From here, hikers will pass through the beaches of Seaia, Beo, Seiruga and Barizo before beginning the most difficult stretch, which will take you to Punta Nariga lighthouse, built in perfect harmony with the landscape. The surroundings of Nariga are magical, with rock formations that give way to the imagination.

The final stage runs through a difficult section, which guides hikers to Niñons beach, passing by the cove of the Lago.
